  • Product Introduction
Chemical oxygen demand (COD) is a chemical method used to measure the amount of reducing substances that need to be oxidized in a water sample. Under certain conditions, the amount of oxidant consumed to oxidize the reducing substances in 1 liter of water sample is used as an indicator to convert it into milligrams of oxygen required per liter of water sample after oxidation, expressed in mg/L

Working principle

Heating a mixture of water sample, potassium dichromate digestion solution, silver sulfate solution (silver sulfate as a catalyst can more effectively oxidize linear fatty compounds), and concentrated sulfuric acid to 170 ℃, the color of the organic matter in the dichromate ion oxidation solution will change. The analyzer detects this color change and converts it into COD value output. The amount of dichromate ions consumed is equivalent to the amount of oxidizable organic matter.

Product Features

1. The digestion colorimetric process of the instrument is completed in one, with a simple and reliable structure, reducing the possibility of errors.

2. Adopting imported modified polytetrafluoroethylene transparent hose with a diameter greater than 1.5mm, reducing the probability of particle blockage in water samples.

3. It can automatically clean the sampling pipeline to prevent the formation of algae or biofilm.

4. After abnormal reset and power failure, the instrument will automatically discharge residual reactants and restore working status.

5. Low failure rate, minimal maintenance, and low reagent consumption.

6. The intelligent fault self diagnosis function, alarm prompt, instrument management and maintenance are very convenient.

7. Adopting multi-channel valves, it has strong anti-corrosion performance, long service life, and is safe and reliable.
