The working principle of the elliptical gear flowmeter is that the liquid pushes a pair of elliptical gears to rotate; The volume of each cavity is a fixed volume; The gear speed is introduced, and the sensor emits synchronous pulse counting. The rotation of the elliptical gear is transmitted to the counter through a magnetic sealed coupling and transmission reduction mechanism, directly indicating the total amount flowing through the flowmeter. If an additional transmitting device is added, coupled with an electrical display instrument, remote transmission of only instantaneous or cumulative flow can be achieved.
The working principle of the elliptical gear flowmeter is that the measuring part of the elliptical gear flowmeter is mainly composed of two meshing elliptical gears and their housing (measuring chamber), as shown in the following figure:

The elliptical gear flowmeter has high measurement accuracy and is suitable for measuring the flow rate of high viscosity media, but it is not suitable for fluids containing solid particles (solid particles can jam the gear, making it impossible to measure the flow rate). If gas is mixed in the measured liquid medium, it can also cause measurement errors. Elliptical gear flowmeter is a type of volumetric flowmeter used for precise continuous or intermittent measurement of liquid flow or instantaneous flow in pipelines. It is particularly suitable for flow measurement of high viscosity media such as heavy oil, polyvinyl alcohol, resin, etc.
