  • Product Introduction
The permanganate index is a commonly used indicator to reflect organic and inorganic oxidizable substances in water bodies. Under certain conditions, certain organic and inorganic reducing substances in water can be oxidized by potassium permanganate, and the equivalent amount of oxygen can be calculated based on the amount of potassium permanganate consumed.

Working principle

This instrument uses potassium permanganate (acidic) titration method to measure water samples. Dissolve and oxidize certain organic and inorganic reducing substances in the water sample using an acidic potassium permanganate solution at 96 ℃, and measure the remaining amount of potassium permanganate at 525nm. The reduction of potassium permanganate is directly proportional to the consumption of organic matter.
